What it is
A pallet of Celebration Bermuda sod (450 sq ft). Australian-bred premium hybrid Bermuda — distinguished by its deep blue-green color and exceptional drought tolerance. The "manicured estate" Bermuda in our sod lineup.
What makes Celebration premium
Three reasons people pay the upcharge:
- Deep blue-green color — visibly darker than Tifway 419 or TifTuf. The "rich emerald" look at full sun.
- Drought tolerance. Comparable to TifTuf for water efficiency.
- Shade tolerance — handles 5 hours of sun acceptably (most Bermudas need 6+). Not for deep shade but better than other Bermudas in marginal light.
When Celebration is the right pick
- You want the best-looking Bermuda on the block — period. Color is the differentiator.
- HOA spec calls for premium-grade Bermuda — common in high-end developments.
- Lawn is in partial shade but you'd still rather have Bermuda than Zoysia.
- You're building a "show lawn" — front yard of a high-end home, commercial property entrance, sports facility.
Trade-off: Celebration is the most expensive Bermuda we carry. For a normal residential yard where color is "nice but not the priority," Tifway 419 is more cost-effective.

Same pallet math — 450 sq ft per pallet, add 5-10% for trim:

Install
Same prep and install pattern as other Bermudas — Premium Soil Mix for compacted soils, grade, water, lay tight, roll, then water deep for the first week.
Celebration establishes slightly slower than Tifway 419 (3-4 weeks for full root vs 2-3 weeks). Worth the extra patience for the color payoff.
Mowing
Celebration prefers a slightly lower mow height than Tifway 419 — 3/4" to 1.5" with a reel mower for the manicured look. Rotary mower at 1-1.5" also works for normal residential maintenance.
Buying tips
- Cut fresh from licensed Celebration growers. Pre-order 7-10 days for big jobs.
- Pair with a TifTuf or Celebration TifGrand fertilizer program — generic 21-7-14 works but the premium programs maximize the color advantage.
- Most impressive in mid-summer, when other Bermudas yellow from heat stress and Celebration stays blue-green.
