We collect what we need to deliver your order and run a business. We don't sell your data.

WHO WE ARE

WHAT WE COLLECT

Information you give us

• Account: name, email, phone, password (hashed by our auth provider — we never see the plaintext).
• Orders: billing and delivery addresses, items, totals, special instructions you type into the checkout.
• Contractor / supplier applications: business name, tax ID, resale certificate, insurance certificate, references.
• Communications: anything you send us via inquiry forms, email, or phone.

Information collected automatically

• IP address, device type, browser, pages visited — via Google Analytics 4 (anonymized IP; see "Third Parties" below).
• Functional cookies for cart, session, and checkout state.

Information we do NOT store

• Credit card numbers. Card data is collected by Stripe directly inside their Elements widget and never touches our servers — we only store a Stripe payment intent ID and the last four digits for receipt purposes.
• Social Security numbers, bank account numbers (except a contractor account's last-four for net-30 verification, if provided).

HOW WE USE IT

• Fulfill and deliver your orders.
• Send order confirmations, delivery updates, and receipts.
• Run a contractor or supplier application through our approval process.
• Improve the site (which products are popular, where customers drop off).
• Prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized account access.
• Comply with tax, accounting, and other legal obligations.

THIRD PARTIES WE SHARE WITH

• Stripe — payment processing. Card data, billing address, and order amount go directly to Stripe; we receive a success token and the last four digits.
• Resend — transactional email (order confirmations, password resets, contractor and supplier notices).
• Google Analytics 4 — aggregate site usage analytics. IPs are anonymized.
• Cloudflare — site hosting, CDN, and DDoS protection. Request logs are retained per Cloudflare's policies.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers or marketing data brokers.

SMS / TEXT MESSAGING

If you give us your mobile number — at checkout, by texting us, or by asking our phone assistant to text you something — we use it to send messages related to your request: order and delivery updates, quotes and payment links, replies to your questions, and (only if you opt in) occasional promotions.

• Consent. We text you only after you provide your number and agree — for example, the opt-in checkbox at checkout, or by texting us first. Consent to marketing texts is never a condition of any purchase.
• Frequency. Message frequency varies based on your orders and requests.
• Rates. Message and data rates may apply.
• Opt-out / help. Reply STOP to any message to stop all texts; reply HELP for help; or call 817-765-1655.
• We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number, your SMS opt-in, or your consent with any third party or affiliate for their own marketing purposes. Your number is shared only with the messaging provider that delivers our texts on our behalf (our telephony provider), solely to send the messages you asked for.

COOKIES

• Functional — cart, session, auth (required for the site to work).
• Analytics — GA4 cookies for measuring traffic. You can opt out with the GA opt-out browser add-on or by enabling "Do Not Track" in your browser.
• Payment — Stripe sets cookies inside their embedded checkout for fraud prevention.

HOW LONG WE KEEP IT

• Order records: seven years (tax compliance).
• Inactive customer accounts: indefinitely unless you ask us to delete (see below).
• Analytics data: per Google's GA4 retention setting (14 months).

YOUR RIGHTS

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. Email us at hello@theoutdoorcompanycompany.com with the subject line "DATA REQUEST" and we will respond within 30 days. Deletion requests for accounts with open invoices or recent orders may be delayed until those are settled and the legally-required retention period passes.

California, Texas, and other state residents may have additional rights under their state privacy laws. We honor those requests on the same email channel above.

CHILDREN

This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe we've received such information, contact us and we will delete it.

CHANGES

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be flagged on the homepage and reflected in the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
