What it is
A purpose-built premium raised-bed and container mix. Sold by the cubic yard. Engineered with the right balance of native topsoil, composted organic matter, and aggregate (perlite-like inclusions) for drainage. Ready to plant the day it's delivered.
What it is for
Raised beds and containers. Specifically:
- Vegetable raised beds. The single best use. Plants will produce more in Bella Flora than in any DIY mix you build at home.
- Large outdoor containers. Anything bigger than a 5-gallon pot. Bagged potting mixes get expensive fast at this scale.
- Cut-flower beds. Productive flower beds with frequent harvesting benefit from the rich nutrient profile.
- Strawberry and herb beds. Hungry crops that need consistent fertility.
For raised beds you're prioritizing for production, this is the right call over Premium Soil Mix.

Use Bella Flora for productive beds. Use Premium Soil Mix for general landscape work.
How much do I need
| Raised bed | Bella Flora needed |
|---|---|
| 4x4 ft × 12" deep | 0.6 yd |
| 4x8 ft × 12" deep | 1.2 yd (order 1.5 — settles 10-15% first season) |
| 4x16 ft × 12" deep | 2.4 yd (order 3) |
| 6x12 ft × 12" deep | 2.7 yd (order 3) |
For containers, plan ~3 cubic feet per 25-gallon container.
The garden-bed wizard calculates Bella Flora plus compost plus mulch top-dressing for the full bed install.
How to use it
For raised beds:
- Fill the bed with Bella Flora to within 1-2 inches of the rim.
- Optionally mix in an extra 10-15% Enriched Compost for first-season productivity.
- Wet thoroughly to settle the mix.
- Plant immediately — no waiting period.
For ongoing care:
- Top-dress with 1-inch Enriched Compost each spring.
- Top up Bella Flora annually as the bed settles.
Texas/DFW specific
In our climate:
- Bella Flora's drainage handles the kind of heavy rain that pools in standard soil — beds drain in hours, not days.
- The higher organic matter holds moisture through 100°F afternoons, reducing watering frequency.
- Slightly buffered pH (closer to neutral than native DFW soils) makes broader crop varieties viable.
Buying tips
- Order 10-15% more than you calculated — beds settle, plants pull soil down with them.
- Best delivered day-of-install (settles in piles over a few days).
- For first-year vegetable beds, supplement with a high-quality balanced fertilizer at planting time.
Contractor notes
Higher-margin premium SKU. Smaller delivery loads — order in 5-10 yard increments rather than tandem-load.
